Ashton United Methodist Church has local units of both the United
Methodist Women (UMW) and United Methodist Men (UMM). Through pledges and fundraising activities, the UMW supports
mission work both locally and worldwide through the larger UMW organization. The UMM supports mission work through
fundraising efforts, such as firewood cutting and sales, mulch sales, pancake dinners, etc. The UMW and UMM also hold
joint programs and activities from time to time.
Christian fellowship is a large part of the life of our church. There
are several organized fellowship activities, such as our popular Pig Roast, as well as the weekly coffee fellowship
between the Sunday morning worship services. Many of our parishioners also gather socially in their homes or on outings
to local restaurants, theaters and attractions.Mission fundraising activities, mission work projects, and community outreach activities also provide many wonderful opportunities for Christian fellowship. The Youth Silent Auction, community yard sales and car washes, Rebuilding Together, and volunteer mission trips are just a few examples where the AUMC parishioners combine work and fun. New folks are always welcome to join our fellowship and mission activities and make new friends here at AUMC. |
