Ashton UMC is seeking a Youth & Community Ministry Director. This position combines supporting the faith formation of young disciples in the congregation with missional outreach in the community. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating Sunday school

• Facilitating youth group and youth activities

• Organizing community outreach events such as VBS, an Easter egg hunt, Trunk or Treat, and the Pumpkin Patch, recruiting volunteers to help with these events

• Directing the church's food pantry

• Building relationships in community contexts including local schools and the church preschool

 

This position will be a good fit if you are self directed, creative, organized, relational, and have strong communication skills. Candidates must be affirming of LGBTQIA+ students and use preferred pronouns and language. Candidates must be vaccinated. 

 

Ashton UMC is located in Montgomery County, MD, a suburban area outside of Washington DC. The expected range of compensation for this position is 37-40K annually, plus housing in a three bedroom home provided by the church.
